GM typically discontinues the least popular Corvette color, hence why Limerock Green is no more. Unfortunately, they’ve decided to discontinue practically HALF of their color options for 2016...including two of the most popular options.
GM already discontinued Night Race Blue and Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic, and by next month (April), we can also say goodbye to Laguna Blue (5th most popular) and Shark Gray (3rd most popular).
The only actual colors remaining are red, dark red, and yellow.

technically a color can be “discontinued” and have a color return in either the exact same color or something real close but with a different name. Let’s them mix it up. I doubt they’ll have that few colors going forward.

Didn’t they just spend like half a billion on the paint portion of the plant? Maybe they are switching out to the new stuff.

From a GM release last May:
Torch Red, Shark Gray Metallic and Laguna Blue Tintcoat, three popular palate choices on the 2015 Corvette , kept the marketers who make up names working late. Now they can dream about more painstakingly precise pigments, thanks to a new paint shop that is among $439 million being invested at the only plant in the world that builds Chevrolet’s iconic sports car.
Oops.

Oh well. But they’ll probably bring back some of these colours, just in different shades.
And probably at least some people who bought ‘vettes in these discontinued colours are gonna use it as an excuse to jack up the price when they try to sell it used.

Why? Lime Rock green was a stunning color, shame it wasn’t more popular.

I suspect part of it has to do with a certain percentage of cars being specced out by GM instead of being a custom order. GM knew black, white, and red would be the most popular. There was no credible data for green’s popularity since the last time GM sold a green corvette was way back in 2001 (Dark Bowling Green) on the C5.
